The Sounder Sleep System™ teaches day time mini moves that help you reduce stress, tension, and anxiety, helping you feel more calm and at ease throughout your day. Night time mini moves are subtle, lulling movements that encourage rest and help the brain welcome sleep. When your brain has a chance to shift from a state of altered stress response to calmer state during the day, it is practice for your brain and body to be able to make this shift when you are wanting to fall asleep. Harvard Medical School’s Division of Sleep Medicine states: “When the alerting areas of the brain are most active, they inhibit activity in other areas of the brain responsible for promoting sleep. This inhibition of sleep results in stable wakefulness. Similarly, when the sleep-promoting areas of the brain are most active, they inhibit activity in areas of the brain responsible for promoting wakefulness. This inhibition of wakefulness results in stable sleep. “ The Sounder Sleep System™ works with the concept and weaves in aspects of a variety of self healing modalities including aspects of yoga, meditation techniques, Feldenkrais, and other somatic explorations. In this workshop, you will learn a number of mini moves to explore throughout the week, plus receive audios to practice with at home. Most practices will be done lying on the floor on your back or side, with some done sitting in a chair and standing.
