Yoga & The Pelvic Floor

Description

Yoga & The Pelvic Floor Whether you're a yoga teacher, brand new to yoga or anywhere in between, this class is for you! Understanding your pelvic floor anatomy and having a whole body approach to building pelvic floor awareness is a game changer. Applying this knowledge to your yoga practice or yoga teaching will help these muscles support you the way they are meant to and help you experience a more optimally functioning pelvic floor. Why does this matter? The pelvic floor muscles are involved with movement, breathing, posture, pleasure, core stability, bodily functions, nervous system responses and more. Our daily use patterns and engrained practices (including yoga, other movement modalities and exercise, activities we love) can actually encourage habits that keep the pelvic muscles from being supple. With a deeper understanding, this often elusive part of the body can become more accessible and you can improve how you move, breathe and feel, while reducing aches, pains and restrictions in the body. The pelvic floor and pelvic area may feel like a vulnerable part of the body to focus on.
