Whether you have been planning a cesarean birth or have recently learned your birth plan needs to shift - preparing physically, mentally and emotionally is a deeply helpful part of the journey. As is understanding the process, for you and your support person(s). These sessions are tailored to you and also include: - Understand the cesarean birth process & questions to ask your care provider. - If you are having twins - understanding the process with twins. - learn movements to help your body prepare for the position you will be in while receiving an epidural. (This is important because back muscles can be quite tight from the typical pregnancy posture, which is the opposite position needed for the epidural). - Learn family-centered cesarean birth procedures that may be possible & how to advocate for them. - Receive hands-on, gentle support to release tension in the body & calm the nervous system & how to utilize these before, during and after your birth. - Practice gentle breathing techniques for helping your incision heal (that also are important for your pelvic floor and calming the nervous system). - Learn immediate ways to help support your movements/ transitions from one position to another, in holding and caring for baby, help with voiding/ eliminating during the first few days. - Learn ways to physically, mentally and emotionally be with your birth and healing scar tissue & when and how to being Scar Tissue Mobilization.
